Privacy & Data Use

Your trust matters. Here's exactly how the Association of Texas Midwives (ATM) handles your information.

We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing or any other purpose. Your information is used only to organize volunteers and support licensed midwifery in Texas through ATM.

What we collect

When you create a volunteer account, we collect:

  • Name, email, and (optional) phone and organization
  • Residential address — used only to auto-detect your Texas Senate & House districts so we can connect you with your legislator
  • How you're willing to help (call, email, or visit)
  • Notes you log about outreach, visits, and feedback you choose to record
Who can see your information
  • You — you can always view and update your own profile.
  • ATM admins — a small group of authorized ATM coordinators can see volunteer profiles and assignments so they can organize outreach.
  • No one else. Other volunteers cannot view your profile, address, phone number, or notes.
How we protect it
  • All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.
  • Database access is protected by row-level security: every request is checked against your identity, so you only see your own data (and admins only see what they need to coordinate volunteers).
  • Passwords are hashed — they are never stored or visible in plain text.
  • Access is limited to authenticated users; the public cannot read any volunteer data.
What we will not do
  • We will not sell your information.
  • We will not rent or trade your information.
  • We will not share your information with political campaigns, advertisers, or other organizations.
  • We will not contact you for purposes unrelated to ATM's midwifery advocacy work.
Your rights

You can request to view, correct, or delete your information at any time by contacting an ATM coordinator. If you delete your account, your profile and personal details are removed from our active systems.
